WHAT IS A CTA SCAN?
Computerized tomography and CT angiography takes images at different angles. These angles are then computer processed to create cross-sectional pictures of the body. This includes slices of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissue. These images provide more detailed information than plain x-rays. CTA scans are used to assess how far disease has spread through out the body. In other cases, it is used to test how the human body is responding to certain treatment plans.
A CTA scan gives a view of specific blood vessels (arteries and veins). CTA is often included in a CT exam
WHAT IS A CT SCAN?
The CT Scan uses x-rays and a computer to make a picture of sections of the body. A CT scan shows the body´s organs in greater detail and more clearly than regular x-rays.
How do I prepare for an CTA procedure?
Preparation for a CTA Scan is simple and easy:
Make sure you do not eat for 8 hours before the test.
You CAN drink as much plain water as you desire.
Leave as many objects at home that you can.
How does my doctor get my CTA Scan results?
The interpretation is done by a board certified radiologist, a medical doctor, who generates a report within 24-48 hours, faster if requested.
The report is automatically sent to your doctor and kept in our records for safekeeping.
Our radiologists make themselves available for any questions or further clarification at any time.
How long does a CT / CTA Scan procedure take?
The CT & CTA Scan usually lasts about 20 minutes.
Please plan for time to check in and prepare the equipment. This could take an additional 30 minutes.

Do I get a copy of my images?
Yes, you are welcome to get a copy of your images on a CD/DVD at the time of your examination at no additional cost.
